Cara Gizzi
Director Youth Education and Outreach Team, Underwriters Laboratories Inc.

Cara Gizzi serves as the Vice President, Education & Outreach for UL’s Not for Profit.  In this role, she develops UL’s global education and outreach strategic framework focused on safety, human health and sustainability.  She works to extend UL’s science and research expertise in collaboration with NGO partners, government, academia and community leaders to develop innovative interventions which result in action and behaviour change.  Currently, the UL education programs are deployed in 20+ countries and in 34 languages and have reached over 1 billion households in the past decade.

Prior to UL, Cara worked for the Walt Disney Company for 14 years and developed education and community focused programs, managed corporate partnerships and served as a liaison for the Disney Integrated Media Division.  Cara serves on the Discover Engineering Strategic Leadership Board, STEM Connector Advisory Council, the UL Sustainability Advisory Council, North American Environmental Education Partner Alliance and in 2013-2015 served on the EPA National Environmental Educational Advisory Council. 

She has completed the UL Global Leadership Program and the Yale University Executive Leadership & Management program.  She holds a Bachelor of Arts, Behavioural Science and Business Management from Drew University and a Masters of Arts, from The Ohio State University.
