Our research group focuses on chronic diseases, environmental health and socio-economic determinants of health. We place a particular emphasis on the analysis of the interactions between environmental and lifestyle factors and how they affect health in both positive and negative ways. Our research group contributes to a better understanding of the state of health of the Luxembourgish population, in particular with regard to cardiometabolic health.

We aim to adapt the scope and application of this research to new technologies and to work towards the development of the growing and exciting field of digital epidemiology. Using digital data for epidemiological research would allow better characterization of patients/populations and the identification of digital biomarkers for greater risk prediction and personalized prevention. Integrating new technologies into the study of environmental health could give a boost to future epidemiological research projects.
